The church is being built at the place where in 1594 Sinnan Pasha had the holy relics of St. Sava burned at the stake, after he had them brought over from the Mileševa Monastery. Read more | | Museums in Belgrade The Residence of Princess Ljubica was erected by order of Miloš Obrenović in 1831. The edifice used to be a private residence of Princess Ljubica, Prince Miloš's wife. Contractor Hadži Nikola Živković did the construction. By its architectural composition and arrangement, the palace belongs to the Balkan style, with some western Baroque elements. Read more Belgrade Fortress At the end of the 1st century, due to its strategic importance, the Romans had built a castrum, as a permanent military camp for the 4th Flavius' Legion.
