AC/DC this spring in Belgrade!

  AC/DC

The spectacular concert of the popular rock band AC/DC will take place at Partizan football stadium on May 26. Another 10,000 tickets for grandstands will be on sale since Monday, it was announced at yesterday’s press conference of “Komuna” in charge of organization.

“The band members don’t have any special demands. The huge stage will be 75 meters high, 21 meters long and 44 meters wide. They are also preparing a lot of pyrotechnics and they are bringing full equipment,” says Petar Vukasinovic from “Komune”. Setting up of the stage starts on May 22 and will last for three days.

Numerous workers will arrive in thirty buses, while the equipment will be transported to Belgrade by 44 trucks. Members of the band will arrive in Belgrade on the day of the concert and will stay for only one day in Belgrade. They will bring their own catering, so their list of demands is quite short, precise and without any special special, except for 500 kilograms of ice.

Tickets for the concert can be bought at Bilet servis, IPS, “Mamut” and “Eventim” and one person can buy no more than four tickets. Gates of the Partizan stadium will be opened since 6 PM and the use of professional cameras and camcorders will be banned. The tour “Black Ice” of the band AC/DC started on February 18 in Oslo and will end in Glasgow on June 31.

News that stars such as AC/DC and “Depeche Mode” will perform in Belgrade in late May have drawn great public attention. Not to mention the concert of Madonna which will be held on August 24 at Usce- we can expect an unprecedented spectacle in Serbia.

However, the real madness will start on the 10th EXIT Festival. The British bands “Arctic Monkeys” and “Madness”, the legends of electronic music “Kraftwerk” and the American musician “Moby” have already confirmed their concerts on the Main Stage. Fans of electronic music will really enjoy at the Fortress because the great starts such as Carl Cox, Richie Hawtin and John Digweed are preparing a four-day party on the Dance Arena. We should also mention concerts of the popular Spanish singer Enrique Iglesias, the band “Slipknot”, Santana, David Byrne (the former frontman of the band “Talking Heads”), an Irish singer Sinead O’Connor famous for the song “Nothing Compares 2 U”.

The band “Simply Red” will perform at Kalemegdan Fortress in late June and this concert should not be missed!

Organizers of the concerts in neighboring countries are also busy this year- after Beyonce, the band U2 will perform in Zagreb and all 63,000 tickets have already been sold out in one day, so it has been speculated that Bono Vox and the band will hold another concert at the Maksimir Stadium.
“The Killers” will play in Ljubljana, Merylin Menson will perform in Hungary, “Placebo” in Greece, while Santana will be the star of the Bestfestibal in Romania.

Partizan Stadium is the football and track-and-field stadium in Belgrade owned by Partizan. It carried the name JNA Stadium for a long time and was the site of Youth Day parade. Even today, the majority of football fans in all countries of former Yugoslavia call it by its old name. Partizan fans, call it "Fudbalski Hram" (English: Temple of Football).
